Diamond let THEHIPHOPDIVA.COM kow about her career as a rapper from where she started to where she is today. Here’s what she had to say.

HHD: At what age did you know you wanted to rap and what led to that decision?

Diamond: My older sister was in a rap group when I was younger,I was 14 when I started.

HHD: You now have a solo deal but you started off with a group.  What made you decide to go with a group from the beginning rather than beginning as a solo artist?

Diamond: It was just the perfect timing, I had always wanted to just seeing my sisters so that inspired me.

HHD: What did you learn about the business side of music from your experience with Crime Mob that would be helpful to up and coming artists?

Diamond: Always manage and keep a close look on everything I do because can’t no one run your business and respect it like you yourself can.

HHD: We’ve seen you as part of a group, but tell us about Diamond and what we can expect from her as a solo artist.

Diamond: I have always been independent,I just want my growth to show as an artist and a woman.

HHD: Your image has changed.  What has brought along your new look?  Is it just the natural growing up process or it is a sign of what we can look forward to expecting from Diamond, the solo artist?

Diamond: It was just time for a change, I’m a adult now so its just time to reflect that. I have so many people female and male young and older still looking up to me and I don’t want to let them down.

HHD: In terms of your music career, where would you like to be five to ten years from now?

Diamond: I want my record label Dime Piece Collection to be fully established,as so the beauty salon I have always dreamed of owning and my own designer clothing line.

HHD: What do you use as inspiration for your lyrics?

Diamond: My mood at that time and its also how the beat makes me feel.

HHD: Who would you say are the top three most influential female MCs and why?

Diamond: Da Brat, Foxy Brown and Lil Kim

HHD: What projects are you working on right now?

Diamond: My new blog site miss32flavaz.blogspot.com. My album is scheduled to drop in August and I have just completed another mixtape called PMS with Lady Jade and DJ Smallz.

HHD: What is your definition of a hip hop diva?

Diamond: Have to be classy, carry yourself with respect and demand it from everyone, never back down from what you believe in, and let the negativity inspire you instead of tearing you down, and always putting God first.
